Bistro regent

Their strapline "Un restaurant, tout simplement" [a restaurant, quite simply] is true, no-frills, but lovely, tasty food... a choice of ?8 main courses within the lunchtime (or indeed, anytime) menu. Drinks, apart from water, not included, but available at prices which are inoffensive. We paid the restaurant the greatest of compliments - we went back! 😁

The owner was unpleasant and dishonest when we pointed out the rotten salad at the bottom of the bowl, and offered no apology. I won't be going back.

The fries were rock hard! I had to ask for bread twice! The air conditioning was broken without any warning? As the first customer of the evening, my fries were on the floor. The person taking our orders was unpredictable, and the waiter had an answer for everything. It's a nightmare at Regent.

On July 8, 2026, there were two of us dining. We arrived at 9:10 PM, and the waitress politely informed us that they were no longer taking reservations as the restaurant closed at 9:30 PM. At the same time, a waiter had his hands full of dishes coming out of the kitchen. So, the advertised closing time of 10:00 PM is incorrect? Or did he simply not feel like serving?

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio was completely off. The salad was just hastily thrown together. You had to search for the dressing. The turkey steak was overcooked (totally dry). The advertised sauce was okay. The burger tasted alright, but it was too small for the price of €19.50. The only redeeming feature was the very friendly service, which made up for some of the shortcomings.

Last night, I went to dinner at the Bistrot Régent in Châtelaillon with colleagues and was shocked by the poor service. The waitress was unpleasant, bordering on insolent, and addressed us informally for no apparent reason. This lack of respect is completely unacceptable in an establishment that serves the public. Professionalism and courtesy should be the foundation of the business. I will not return and I do not recommend this establishment until the service improves.

Avoid at all costs! The waitress was incredibly unpleasant! She forgot our food (there were 16 of us), spoke rudely to the customers, used the informal "tu" form, and asked us for help refilling the water carafes even though there were hardly any customers. The service was deplorable, and the waitress's behavior was no better! It was my first time there, and it will be my last. Never again will I be going to Bistrot Régent!!!

Yuck! Disappointed... reheated, hard fries, like potato chips. I asked for a change and got another equally disappointing dish 😡😤... The meat was too tough and sinewy. It's a shame, we really like this chain, but this was a DISASTER. The waitresses were lovely, and the service was perfectly fine. DON'T GO THERE ON THE NIGHT OF CHÂTEL EN FÊTE... unless you want to enjoy the great concerts.

An interminable wait of over 50 minutes to take our order, and mistakes with the dishes when it came time to serve them. The Coca-Cola was hot, the fries were cold, and the sauce never arrived at the table. The owner didn't seem to care about the mess in the dining room.

Disaster! The owner only serves tables she knows. 25 minutes for two hot Cokes 🥵🥵🥵 then another 45 minutes for a tiny salmon tartare and a burger. I usually go to the one in Lyon Part-Dieu, and the salmon tartare there is twice the size. The service was a disaster; the waiters kept bringing the wrong table, and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes for a single dish. The owner was busy serving customers while the terrace was full. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

We know this restaurant well and always enjoy its food. However, the fact that the air conditioning doesn't work during the heatwave somewhat spoils the experience. What a shame...

"Had a beer on a Sunday afternoon. 40% more expensive than at nearby bars (oops). Lukewarm beer (oops). The tables were still very dirty and hadn't been cleaned before we were served (oops). The waitress clearly didn't have time; she was sitting with acquaintances, chatting and laughing. We advise against this establishment. It's surprising that Chef Etchebest would associate himself with this kind of dive."

My wife had the fish (salmon) and I had the entrecote. Both came with the sauce listed on the menu. The food was delicious. The service was very nice and friendly. I recommend this restaurant. The prices are also quite reasonable.

Waitress was fine, no complaints. The meal was very disappointing; we didn't even have time for an aperitif before the main courses were served. No one asked if we'd been happy with the food. Frankly, we won't be back! Extremely disappointed! Arrived at 8:35 PM Departed at 9:10 PM I wouldn't recommend it for anything in the world. 🙊🙈🙉
