Bella Donna La Rochelle – Restaurant Italien & Aperitivo

Much better than the 4.1 stars it's showing today. The service was quick and very pleasant. We ordered two pizzas, which were very good and generous. Go there without hesitation!

As a regular at this restaurant (my favorite in all of La Rochelle for years), I'm increasingly surprised and disappointed by the quality offered at every level (price, quantity, quality, and service). I went there for lunch this week with a friend. We arrived when there were hardly any customers on the terrace. It took 45 minutes to serve a Margherita pizza for my friend and a tomato Bruschetta appetizer for me (€9.80 for two slices of bread, tomato sauce, and four anchovies—a bit pricey for what it is, even if it is an appetizer...) because "they had messed up the Margherita." Except that around us, four other tables, which had arrived after us, had already been served their main courses. We were practically forgotten. At the register, a waitress from the bar, with a nonchalant attitude and no way of saying hello, started to take our payment, then saw another colleague go by and abandoned us without a word, because we learned she was sick... (that was the "excuse" her colleague who took over gave her, so yes, she comes to work, in a restaurant no less, while she's SICK, without a mask, without any politeness or anything). We had the impression that everything was normal in the end, barely even apologetic. A small gesture of goodwill, though: my cordial and iced tea were free... Clearly disappointed, especially since we've been coming here for years. I won't be going back, at least not to the one in town.

We went for dinner and ordered a Caesar salad, but we had to tear the lettuce ourselves because it was served unprepared. It had a slow-cooked egg and pesto dressing. There was no cheese and very little dressing. For our main course, we ordered pizza, which had an uncooked crust; the waitress told us it was the sauce.

Good Italian restaurant. Purists will surely be confused by the carbonara!

Delicious pizza. The extra ingredient is quite pricey, though. The salad with the calzone was a pleasant surprise. Very tasty. Cozy terrace. The interior is tastefully decorated.

La Bella Donna is a must-try. The quality is consistently excellent, the decor is magnificent, and the service is top-notch. The owner ensures everything is perfect. A huge thank you to him and his team for delighting our taste buds.

I ate there last week, and it was absolutely excellent! The staff are really lovely, the pizzas are delicious, and the salmon pasta is truly superb! I highly recommend it to everyone.

The best pizza I've ever had! Excellent. The setting is great, beautiful decor and quality restrooms. The only downside is the wait time to be served. I highly recommend it. Can't wait to go back to La Rochelle and try it again.

We highly recommend it. The setting is magnificent, the welcome was fantastic with our two dogs, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was a superb discovery. You absolutely must stop by.

We ordered takeaway, but we had to call despite ordering online. We asked for the pizza to be cut, but it wasn't. Otherwise, it's still a bit expensive compared to other pizzas.
