La Goul'beun Aise

A friendly, unpretentious place, the kind that's becoming increasingly rare. They serve excellent homemade dishes from the Charente region, or more generally French cuisine, with a warm welcome.

I suspected it was one of those rare, old-fashioned establishments 😊. I ate very well and at a reasonable price. I recommend it.

A very good experience at this friendly restaurant with its typically French charm. From the moment we arrived, we appreciated the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, which immediately made us want to spend a pleasant time. The food was also good, and we had a lovely meal. However, I would add one point for improvement, which I had already noticed in other reviews and which explains why I'm not giving it 5 stars: the organization and tidiness in the kitchen, visible from the dining room, could be better. Since customers can see them, this deserves a little more attention. Nevertheless, it remains a very nice place with a pleasant atmosphere.

Excellent service! I came with my colleague, and even at 10 pm we were served despite the late hour! I loved it and highly recommend it!

We came as a group a while ago for a going-away party. Two people ordered wine, and after starting to drink it, it turned out to be the wrong one. The waitress was very friendly, exchanged it for the correct wine, and didn't charge for the first wine. That was fair enough, but then we ordered two pizzas, one of which was vegetarian. After eating several slices, we realized there was meat in both. Very disappointed, I called the waitress over to point it out, and she looked me straight in the eye and said, "No, there's no meat." I had even left her some untouched pieces so she could see for herself. She refused to check, kept insisting there was no meat, left, and never came back. I'm very disappointed and shocked by this behavior.

Our friend was absolutely right to introduce us to this restaurant... A wonderful welcome, and the snails and eels were delicious! Thank you, Landes residents!

I thoroughly enjoyed the snails Charentaise-style and the eels in parsley sauce! We'll be back!
