Les Régates

Lunch today. Satisfied with the good quality food. Mussels, meats (rump steak and ribeye) and oysters were very good, as were the side dishes, sauces and fries, which seemed homemade.

First and definitely last time I'll ever go to this bar/restaurant. Despite the crowds and the rush caused by the semi-final, and understanding the potential staff shortages and the heat, very little, if anything, was right. We ordered drinks and "homemade" pizzas that certainly didn't look homemade, since at 8:30 pm we were told they were out, and then at 10:30 pm they magically reappeared! Asking for water was probably the most daring request we could have made; they seemed more annoyed than anything else to serve us. Despite everything, the waiter made an effort to be friendly and did his best to salvage the service, which was absolutely not the case with the waitress's attitude. We had the very strong impression that we were bothering her, etc. (sloppy service, mistakes...). The atmosphere, which was supposed to be festive and pleasant, turned into a catastrophic social experience, in addition to the defeat against Spain.

It's not that complicated to be respectful to customers. A simple hello or good evening would have been appreciated, even during the match. Furthermore, shopkeepers are required to accept cash, even if it's 1, 2, or 5 cent coins. I had 10, 20, and 50 cent coins. Moreover, you don't talk down to your customers. And you don't put a drink in the fridge that a customer was about to pay for! And you have to wait for the card reader to validate the payment instead of sending me to the other end to pay again. I ended up being charged €8 instead of €4 for my drink. And the refund shouldn't be in cash when I pay by card. In short, I don't recommend it.

A waiter came over to speak to me (I didn't speak to him) to tell me that if I wasn't happy, I should leave. Honestly, avoid this place, and given the reviews, it's best to do your research before going. Oh, and sorry, I forgot, I paid €6.50 for a measly plate of fries with no sauce, no flavor, and a small piece of metal in it. The prices are exorbitant. I didn't know you had to order friendliness in addition to drinks (not pizza, since they don't have any).

9 euros for a gin and tonic, what a rip-off!
